CANCELLATION POLICY
This Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) is issued by Booncart Private Limited (“Booncart”, “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) and governs the terms relating to cancellation of orders placed by customers (“Customer”, “you”, “your”) on our online marketplace, www.booncart.com (“Platform”). This Policy must be read in conjunction with Booncart’s Terms & Conditions, Return & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, and Grievance Redressal Policy. By placing an order on the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms of this Policy.
Booncart operates both a Commission Model, where independent sellers list and sell products directly to Customers, and a Trade Model, where Booncart itself undertakes the sale and fulfilment. The cancellation rules, responsibilities, and remedies under this Policy apply across both models unless explicitly stated otherwise.
General Cancellation Framework: Cancellations on the Platform are permitted only within the terms laid down in this Policy. Customers are advised to carefully review all product details, specifications, expected delivery timelines, preorder conditions, and customization requirements before confirming any purchase. Requests for cancellation based on change of mind, subjective dissatisfaction, colour/texture variance, or delayed expectations will not be entertained unless expressly provided for under this Policy.
Orders may only be cancelled if they meet the eligibility conditions outlined herein. Once an order has been packed, dispatched, or moved into the final stages of processing, cancellation may not be feasible.
Cancellation of Standard Products: For standard, non-customized, ready-to-ship products, Customers may request cancellation within twenty-four (24) hours of placing an order, provided that the product has not been dispatched. If the order has already entered the dispatch cycle, cancellation may not be possible. Booncart reserves the right to allow or deny cancellation requests based on courier readiness, warehouse status, or seller fulfilment status.
In the Trade Model, Booncart may process cancellation requests directly. In the Commission Model, cancellation depends on the seller’s ability to halt the dispatch process in time.
Preorders and Customized Products: Products designated as pre orders, customized items, or made-to-order products are strictly non-cancellable once the order is confirmed, since such products are procured, manufactured, or designed specifically on request.
However, cancellation may be permitted under the following limited circumstances:
- if the seller or Booncart fails to dispatch the product beyond the acceptable delay window communicated on the Platform;
- if the product becomes unavailable due to supplier failure;
- if the preorder cycle is discontinued or the product is withdrawn;
- if the product is delivered in a defective, damaged, or materially inconsistent condition, in accordance with the Return & Refund Policy.
- Preorders often involve extended fulfilment timelines, and Customers acknowledge such timelines prior to purchase.
Cancellations by Booncart: Booncart reserves the right to cancel an order, in whole or in part, at its sole discretion in circumstances including, but not limited to:
- non-availability of the product;
- pricing, listing, or technical errors;
- failure by the Customer to provide accurate delivery information;
- inability to verify Customer identity or payment information;
- suspected fraudulent, high-risk, or abusive transactions;
- Customer history of excessive cancellations, returns, or COD refusals;
- delivery locations declared unserviceable by logistics partners;
- violation of Booncart’s policies or applicable laws.
In such events, the Customer shall be notified, and any prepaid amount shall be refunded in accordance with the Refund Clause in this Policy.
Cancellations for COD Orders: Customers selecting Cash-on-Delivery (COD) must ensure availability at the delivery address. COD orders cannot be cancelled once they are in transit. Customers who repeatedly refuse COD deliveries or cause RTO (Return-to-Origin) due to unavailability may have COD disabled for future orders in accordance with Booncart’s fraud-prevention mechanisms.
COD may also be restricted for high-value items or accounts exhibiting suspicious behaviour patterns.
Impact of Cancellation on Refunds Where a cancellation request is approved before dispatch, Booncart will process a refund of the prepaid amount to the original payment method. Refunds generally take seven (7) to fifteen (15) working days, depending on bank and payment gateway timelines.
In partial cancellation scenarios or orders comprising multiple items, refunds may be processed proportionately.
If a Customer places fraudulent cancellation requests or misuses refund mechanisms, Booncart reserves the right to withhold refunds, suspend account access, or initiate further action.
Cancellations Resulting from Delivery Failure / RTO: When an order is returned to Booncart or the seller due to factors attributable to the Customer such as providing an incorrect address, repeated non-availability during delivery attempts, refusal to accept delivery, or unreachable contact information the order is marked as Return-to-Origin (RTO).
In such cases, for prepaid orders, Booncart may deduct:
- forward and reverse shipping charges,
- payment gateway fees, and
- handling and packing charges.
The remaining amount will be refunded. Customers who repeatedly cause RTO occurrences may face account-level restrictions including loss of COD privileges or fulfilment limitations.
Cancellation Following Fraud Detection: Booncart actively employs automated systems, behavioural monitoring tools, and manual verification processes to identify fraudulent orders, duplicate accounts, payment manipulation, or misuse of offers. Orders flagged as high-risk may be cancelled without prior notice. Booncart may require KYC verification or additional authentication before processing high-value orders.
In cases involving confirmed fraud, Booncart may suspend the Customer account and initiate action in accordance with applicable law.
Marketplace Liability in Commission Model: In the Commission Model, cancellations and applicable refunds are governed by seller obligations. Booncart acts solely as an intermediary facilitating transaction between Customers and sellers. Any refund arising from cancellation will be recovered from the seller’s settlement account. The Customer acknowledges that the seller is ultimately responsible for honouring cancellation obligations except where Booncart assumes responsibility expressly or by operation of law.
Customer Acknowledgement: By placing an order on Booncart, the Customer acknowledges the nature of preorder cycles, customization processes, inventory constraints, fulfilment dependencies, and marketplace operations. The Customer accepts responsibility for reviewing listing details and timelines prior to ordering.
Cancellation is not permitted on the basis of:
- personal preference changes;
- delays within the reasonable fulfilment window;
- dissatisfaction with design subjectivity;
- minor variations inherent in customised or handcrafted products.
